NOLA, day 2 from 4-14-09

So yesterday was day two of our trip down in n'awlins, and we actually had some sweet stuff planned. Being first time tourists, we did the almost obligatory fanboat swamp tour and saw some wild gators. We had no idea that marshmallows are considered "swamp crack", and the gators love 'em! We got to hold a baby gator, and we were fairly thankful he didn't bite us.For dinner, we ate at a little hole in the wall called Felix's. It's been around forever, and I had the best meal of my life. Blackened Drum fish smothered in crawfish etoufee. Considering that fish isn't my all-time favorite to begin with, I think
you can grasp the magnitude of my dinner. On a scale of one to ten, That fish ranks somewhere below 'religious experience'.After dinner, we were told that Pat O's has THE best hurricanes in the south, (Pat O's staff insist that they invented them, but who knows). We then joined our haunted history tour across the street. The tour itself was fairly entertaining, but if you don't believe in ghosts (like me), you can still get plenty of history from the tour. It's not schmaltzy - no scare tactics involved, and it is at night, which is more cool than creepy Stay tuned for the cooking school and aquarium adventures!
